Line scan vision camera
Line scan cameras are a type of camera that captures images one line at a time, unlike regular cameras that capture entire frames at once. They work by using a linear sensor that scans across the field of view, building up the image one line at a time. The motion of the sensor or the object being captured creates the second dimension of the image.

SWIR Line Scan Industrial Camera
A SWIR line scan camera can offer advantages in a variety of applications. Typically, light with a wavelength that ranges between 400nm and 780nm is referred to as visible light, while wavelength that ranges between 780nm and 1000µm are referred to as infrared light. Specifically, in the infrared spectrum, the light adjacent to visible light is called Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR). VALINE-1K1-M42-30GM-TF-SWIR can capture comprehensive image data covering wavelengths from 950nm to 1700nm.
SWIR GigE line scan cameras are useful in a variety of applications:
- In semiconductor inspection, where they can identify defects that may not be present in the visible spectrum.
- Inspection of products in moist conditions, water becomes opaque at 1450nm wavelength due to the light being absorbed by the water.
- Detection of a specific material among other materials. For example: plastics and metals may look similar in the visible light spectrum, but because the reflectance and absorptance of the infrared vary at different wavelengths, the specific material can be detected among others.
GigE line scan camera
Our line scan camera come equipped with GigE vision interface. The cameras follow the GenICam standard widely used in machine vision software applications. With the free configuration software available on the download page, customers can adjust the camera parameters to fit the application. The settings can then be exported for future use or directly stored on the camera for deployment in your project.
Line scan camera without POE (Power over Ethernet)
This model doesn’t have the capability to be power over Ethernet (POE). The camera needs to be powered with the optional IO cable. When the camera needs to be synchronized with an encoder or when a trigger or strobe output is needed, then these connections are also available on the IO cable. The cable is available in a variety of lengths to suit different requirements.
Line scan camera with M42 mount
This camera model comes with an M42-mount, providing a standard lens interface commonly used in many imaging applications. Our SWIR lens series VA15-LCM-2MP + M42 to C-mount adapter will perfectly match the camera to ensure optimal image quality. The lenses are available in multiple focal lengths and can be calculated using our lens calculator.
Product Life cycle & Warranty
A strong and ongoing demand for our cameras from a wide customer base enables us to provide a long product lifecycle. Even if we should cease promotion, we will continue supplying the camera for an additional year. When a product is discontinued, we will ensure that similar replacement options are available. Because we believe in the quality of our products, we offer a 2-year warranty on all of our line scan cameras.
